On April 11, 2023, in the bustling port of Ijmuiden, a maritime incident occurred involving two vessels. The 5,084 gross ton cargo ship, Green Egersund (IMO: 8804567), engaged in a mooring maneuver that led to a bow-to-bow collision with the Barbados-flagged reefer vessel, Tasman Star (IMO: 8221844), which was safely berthed at the quay. The incident transpired when the Green Egersund inadvertently struck the starboard bow of the Tasman Star with its port side bulwark. Thankfully, both ships experienced only minor damage above the waterline, ensuring no significant threats to safety or seaworthiness.
