On February 4, 2023, Reuters reported that Glencore, the renowned Anglo-Swiss commodity trading company, has taken a significant step in the oil market by chartering a vessel for the direct loading of Iranian fuel oil at Bandar Mahshahr, Iran. This development marks a pivotal moment for the re-entry of legitimate Iranian crude and oil products into the global marketplace. The Greek-operated ship, named Green Warrior, docked at Bandar Mahshahr on February 3 under a fully fixed charter agreement with Glencore. It is scheduled to load a substantial shipment of 80,000 tonnes of high-sulphur fuel oil, which is set for delivery to Singapore.
