Nordic Macau Undergoes Bow Thruster Repairs in Algeciras

Nov 12, 2019 22:27

The 'Nordic Macau', a vessel recently departed from Banjul on November 6, 2019, encountered a bow thruster issue when a critical ring broke. To address this problem, the ship docked at the port of Algeciras on November 10 at approximately 2:40 PM, where repair efforts commenced. A crane barge was utilized to facilitate the repairs at the Abrigo Ingeniero jetty. To efficiently access the damaged thruster, the ship was strategically ballasted, allowing the thruster to rise above the waterline. After completing the necessary repairs, 'Nordic Macau' conducted sea trials and departed Algeciras on November 14 at 6:50 AM. The vessel returned to the port on November 15 at 1:40 AM, berthing at the Total Terminal International Algeciras. Following a brief stay, the ship finally set sail again on November 15 at 11:30 PM, destined for Conakry, with an estimated time of arrival set for November 21 at 7:00 AM.
