Container Ship Stranded Near Port Qasim Successfully Refloated
On August 30, 2015, the container vessel 'Nordic Hong Kong' experienced grounding at 06:55 a.m. as it was departing the navigational channel of Port Qasim. The ship encountered difficulties and became immobilized close to buoy 9. After several hours of efforts, the vessel was refloated with the help of tugboats at 11:45 a.m. It appears that the depth of the canal had been compromised due to silt accumulation. Later that same day, the 'Nordic Hong Kong' continued its journey from Port Qasim.
