The Guanyin: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

In a significant development, the U.S. Treasury Department enacted sanctions in the final week of July 2025, affecting over 115 individuals, entities, and vessels linked to Iran, with several of these ships involved in the transport of Russian oil. Among them are the tankers 'Tagor', 'Guanyin', and 'Tassos', which were slated to deliver Russian crude to various Indian ports this month. All three tankers currently face U.S. sanctions. Specifically, the 'Tagor' had its course set for Chennai, while 'Guanyin' and 'Tassos' were bound for western Indian ports, as indicated by trade sources and data from Russian ports. These sanctions are part of broader efforts to diminish Russia's oil revenue, which is viewed as a financial resource for its ongoing conflict in Ukraine, and they are increasingly impacting Russian oil supplies to India, a country that relies on Russia for over a third of its oil imports. As a result of the sanctions, the 'Tagor' is now en route to Dalian, 'Tassos' has diverted to Port Said, and 'Guanyin' continues its journey toward Sikka, a port utilized by Reliance Industries and Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd. Additionally, the sanctioned tankers 'Achilles' and 'Elyte', both filled with Russian oil, are preparing to offload Russian Urals for Reliance. Both of these vessels are also facing sanctions from the United Kingdom and the European Union.
