Oman Shipping Company (OSC) has proudly added a new vessel to its fleet, taking delivery of the Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) named Habrut. This addition marks a significant milestone, bringing OSC's total number of vessels in commercial operation and ownership to 33, as reported by Times of Oman. The official handover of Habrut occurred during a ceremony held at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering's headquarters in Okbu, South Korea. Designed to meet the latest international standards in the VLCC sector, Habrut incorporates advanced navigation and safety technologies suitable for varied climatic conditions. Furthermore, it features ballast water treatment systems in compliance with global environmental regulations aimed at safeguarding marine ecosystems from ballast water discharge. The VLCC boasts an impressive deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 317,000 tons, with dimensions of 333 meters in length, a 60-meter beam, and a design draft of 21 meters. The technical management of Habrut will be handled by International Tanker Management, based in Dubai.
