An unusual incident unfolded at Chittagong Port when a young man, identified as a truck driver, was apprehended after attempting to stow away on the cargo vessel 'Haian View' en route to Singapore. On September 24, the man gained access to the restricted area of Chittagong Port by using his valid driver's license to operate a truck. Taking a bold yet risky move, he concealed himself within an empty shipping container aboard the 'Haian View'. As the ship departed from the port, the hunger and thirst soon became unbearable, prompting him to emerge from his hiding spot. His presence was quickly noticed by the crew, leading to his capture. After completing its journey to Singapore and returning on October 5, the 'Haian View' docked back at Chittagong Port where the crew promptly handed over the stowaway to local port authorities. Following his retrieval, the young man was transferred to the port police station later that evening, where authorities proceeded to file a legal case against him under the Special Powers Act for his attempts to leave the country without a passport. On October 6, he was brought before the court, which ruled for his detention in jail as the case unfolds.
