On July 21, 2023, the vessel 'Britoil Power' was detained at the Port of Constanta, shortly after its arrival from Altinova. The detention was a result of four significant deficiencies identified during inspection: Firstly, the ship lacked a valid Liability for the Removal of Wrecks certificate, raising concerns about compliance with maritime regulations concerning wreck responsibility. Secondly, the fire control plan documentation was incomplete, as identified by the classification authority RINA Services S.p.A. Additionally, the SOPEP (Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan) documentation was also found to be lacking. Lastly, issues were noted concerning the fixed fire extinguishing installation, also categorized by RINA Services S.p.A. After a brief period of scrutiny, 'Britoil Power' was released from detention on July 24, but remained stationary in the port until July 27, 2023, awaiting further inspections or necessary rectifications.
