Following the repair work, the ship has begun its journey toward Gothenburg, with an estimated arrival time of January 11 at 5 p.m. The Hanni entered the Kiel Canal early in the morning at 4:30 a.m. and successfully navigated into the Baltic Sea by 1 p.m., marking a significant milestone in her recovery.

On December 7, at 4:45 a.m., the vessel 'Hanni' set sail from Ellerholz Port in Hamburg and made its way to Norder Yard Hamburg for essential repairs. The timely maintenance at this renowned shipyard underscores the ongoing commitment to vessel safety and performance.

On December 4, 2016, the feeder vessel 'Hanni' found itself grounded on the Elbe River, near the Mühlenberger Hole, not far from the Airbus facilities. The ship departed from the Waltershof container terminal at 6:30 a.m. but experienced a severe engine failure as it navigated between the Blankenese and Finkenwerder areas. This malfunction caused the vessel to drift uncontrollably into the busy shipping lane, where it eventually ran aground on the southern bank of the Elbe. Initial efforts to rescue the 'Hanni' with tugboats were unsuccessful. The water police vessel 'WS 35' quickly secured the area of the accident, while the survey vessel 'Deepenschriewer 1' examined the riverbed. Assistance was provided by the fireboat 'Repsold' and the tug 'Bugsier 22'. The next refloating attempt took place during the afternoon's high tide, and after two failed tries, the 'Hanni' was successfully refloated just before 7 p.m. by four tugboats and was then able to dock at warehouses 76-77 in the Ellerholz Port, Hamburg, at 7:40 p.m. The vessel was originally en route from Hamburg to Bremerhaven at the time of the incident.
