On November 28, 2020, at approximately 5:30 AM, the freighter 'Hayato' was involved in a tragic collision with a fishing vessel near Kashima Port, located on Honshu's eastern coast, north of Tokyo. The incident resulted in the fishing boat sinking, with only its bow remaining visible above the waterline. Fortunately, all 12 crew members aboard the fishing vessel were initially rescued; however, they sustained various injuries, and sadly, one fisherman later succumbed to his wounds.
