In a tragic maritime incident, eight individuals are still unaccounted for following the collision between the fishing vessel "Yuenan Aoyu 36062" and the cargo ship "SITC Danag." This maritime disaster occurred 22 nautical miles southwest of Yinggehai town in Ledong County, located on the southwestern coast of Hainan province in China. According to the provincial maritime search and rescue (SAR) center, the unfortunate event led to the sinking of the fishing boat on April 7. The wreck site was successfully identified on April 6, thanks to the deployment of advanced underwater robots and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). However, challenges persist as the swift underwater currents and the entanglement of fishing nets around the wreckage have hindered divers from accessing the cabin. Search efforts are ongoing, covering a vast expanse of over 5,700 square nautical miles to locate the missing fishermen.

In the early hours of April 3, 2024, a serious maritime incident occurred when the container ship 'SITC Danang' collided with a fishing vessel near Hainan Island. The 'SITC Danang,' traveling from Qinzhou to Saigon, struck the fishing boat around midnight, resulting in the vessel sinking and leaving its eight crew members unaccounted for. In response to the emergency, personnel from Hainan quickly mobilized military and police units to commence search and rescue operations. A total of 21 ships and five aircraft were deployed to the scene in a concerted effort to locate the missing fishermen. Despite extensive searches that spanned over 20 hours post-incident, there have been no sightings of the missing crew as of yet. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
