On the morning of December 6, 2024, the salvage vessel 'Hebo Cat 7' commenced operations to recover a number of containers that went overboard following a collision involving the inland cargo vessel 'River Drone 5'. The incident occurred around 06:15 a.m. in Het Scheur, near Maassluis, leading to containers being released into the water. Many of these containers eventually drifted ashore at Koning Willem-Alexander Boulevard in Maassluis. While the containers were reported to be empty, one was found open and had taken on water, leading to complications. As the water receded, four containers became lodged in the mud, prompting search efforts. Authorities were dispatched, with vessels from the local port authority actively searching for additional lost containers along the Maassluis shore. Rijkswaterstaat's patrol boat 'RWS 71' was on-site overseeing the salvage process, with the service vessel 'Contargo II' positioned close by to assist.
