Incident Report: Allision Involving Hercules J and Rysum at RTM Anchorage

On June 8, 2019, the bulk carrier 'Hercules J', while navigating from Hamburg to Leixoes, experienced a severe weather incident that caused it to drag anchor in the vicinity of 51° 57.06' N latitude and 003° 46.07' E longitude, near Hoek van Holland. This unfortunate situation resulted in an allision with the container vessel 'Rysum', which had departed from Rotterdam and was anchored awaiting orders. The impact resulted in minor superficial damage to both vessels. The 'Hercules J' sustained a dent on the starboard side towards the aft, while the 'Rysum' incurred a dent on the port side at the bow. Following the incident, on June 9, the 'Hercules J' successfully moored at RTM Anchorage 5, located at coordinates 51° 55.67' N and 003° 48.44' E off Rotterdam. Simultaneously, the 'Rysum' was secured at a nearby position, with coordinates 51° 55.44' N and 003° 45.97' E.
