Beginning in May 2022, Heritage Expeditions is set to introduce the 'Heritage Adventurer', a revamped cruise ship formerly known as 'Rcgs Resolute'. In a surprising turn of events, the RCGS Resolute was sold at a public auction in Curacao on June 22 for a mere $600,000. This sale price stands in stark contrast to the vessel's estimated book value, which was previously reported to be around $25 million. Speculation arises that the current owner of the ship may have participated in the auction to settle outstanding debts associated with the vessel. As the situation unfolds, questions remain regarding whether Venezuelan authorities will permit the ship to leave Curacao.

The RCGS Resolute is scheduled to go under the hammer in Curacao on June 22, following the insolvency declaration by Canadian operator One Ocean Expeditions. Currently managed by Columbia Cruise Services, the ship has remained docked in Curacao since sustaining damage during a recent collision while manned by a skeleton crew. Court documents reveal that the shipowner faces liabilities nearing $4 million.
