On January 14, 2024, the United States Coast Guard conducted a medevac operation for a crew member aboard the crude oil tanker 'High Adventure' approximately 10 miles south of Galveston, Texas. At around 11 a.m., personnel from Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston received an emergency call reporting that a 57-year-old crew member was suffering from severe abdominal pain. In response, watchstanders quickly issued an urgent marine information broadcast to alert nearby vessels. They also redirected an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Houston to the location. The helicopter arrived promptly, hoisted the patient aboard, and safely transported him to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he was reported to be in stable condition following the medical emergency.
