Hyundai Merchant Marine Welcomes Fifth Vessel from Daewoo Shipbuilding
On July 28, 2023, Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), a prominent container shipping firm based in South Korea, celebrated the delivery of the Hyundai Pride. This latest addition marks the completion of a contract for five new vessels, each with a capacity of 13,154 TEU, originally ordered in August 2011 from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME). After a scheduled bunkering operation in Russia, the Hyundai Pride is set to bolster the G6 Asia-Europe Loop 6. This delivery follows the recent handover of the Hyundai Victory on June 30, which has since joined the G6 Asia-Europe Loop 7, and the Hyundai Drive, delivered earlier on June 20, now part of the G6 Asia-Europe Loop 4. The Hyundai Pride, registered under the Marshall Islands flag, boasts impressive dimensions with a deadweight of 152,700 tons and measures 365.5 meters in length and 48 meters in width.
