HMM Welcomes Hyundai Victory, Fourth in a Series of 13,100-TEU Vessels
Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) has officially taken delivery of the Hyundai Victory, marking the arrival of the fourth ship in a series of five 13,100-TEU vessels. Ordered in August 2011 from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, each of these massive vessels represents an investment of approximately $129 million, according to reports from Alphaliner. The Hyundai Victory is set to serve on the G6 Asia-Europe Loop 7, enhancing HMM's capacity on this key trade route. This delivery comes just two weeks after the shipper received the Hyundai Drive, while the final vessel, the Hyundai Pride, is anticipated to join the fleet in late July. With these deliveries, HMM will increase its fleet of 13,100-TEU ships, complementing five similar vessels that were previously handed over in 2012 by Hyundai Samho shipyard and financed through strategic partnerships with Greek owner Danaos.
