On the afternoon of October 14, 2018, the ferry Loch Seaforth experienced an allision with a quay while attempting to dock at Stornoway. The incident resulted in damage to the vessel's bow door, leading to the cancellation of the 3 p.m. sailing from Stornoway to Ullapool. Passengers were subsequently affected as the 4.25 p.m. sailing from Tarbert to Uig faced a 55-minute delay, as travelers needed to reroute from Stornoway to the Isle of Harris terminal. Additionally, the disruption influenced the 6.30 p.m. sailing from Ullapool to Stornoway, as repair work was conducted on the ferry. Following these events, the Loch Seaforth was able to depart Stornoway early on the morning of October 15.
