In a groundbreaking initiative, Danish shipping powerhouse DS Norden successfully completed the world's inaugural commercial test voyage aboard a vessel fueled entirely by carbon-neutral bio-fuel. The ship, known as the NORD HIGHLANDER, embarked on its journey from Rotterdam to Tallinn, Estonia, marking a significant milestone in sustainable maritime practices. The bio-fuel utilized for this test was supplied by the Dutch company Good Fuels. A noteworthy advantage of this bio-fuel, derived from food oil, is that existing tank infrastructure on ships does not require modification or reconstruction for its use. CEO Jan Rindbo expressed pride in their pioneering efforts, stating, "Norden is proud to be at the forefront of testing and introducing CO2-neutral fuel that truly makes an impact on the highly important agenda of reducing the carbon footprint of shipping," as reported by the Copenhagen Post.

Scorpio Maritime has successfully reached an agreement to sell its Handymax product tanker, STI Highlander, which was built in 2007, for an estimated $19.35 million. This transaction is projected to be finalized in October 2015. Importantly, there will be no need for debt repayment associated with this sale, as STI Highlander is not secured by any of the Company's existing credit facilities. Following this sale, Scorpio Maritime's entire owned fleet will consist solely of vessels constructed in 2012 or later, marking a significant modernization of their operations.
