Working Conditions Aboard the Hyogo

On February 16, 2016, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), a leading shipping operator based in Tokyo, inaugurated a new domestic feeder service between Tokyo and Sendai, located in Miyagi Prefecture. This innovative service aims to enhance logistics efficiency by providing regular connections between the two pivotal ports, while also integrating with MOL's extensive global shipping network. The feeder service operates on a convenient schedule, with Sendai being served on Tuesdays, Tokyo on Thursdays, and then returning to Sendai on Fridays, ensuring a swift four-day turnaround. The Japanese-flagged 1,829 dwt cargo vessel, MV Hyogo, began its operations on the same day, marking a significant expansion in MOL's reefer service capabilities. This strategic move not only boosts regional connectivity but also strengthens shipping operations in Japan.
