Working Conditions Aboard the Ievoli-Cobalt

A somber event unfolded on September 11, 2017, when a crew member aboard the vessels 'Ievoli Cobalt,' registered under IMO number 9253194, collapsed while operating off the Isle of Wight. Prompt action was taken when two fellow crew members immediately attempted to resuscitate him after the alarming situation was reported. The Bembridge RNLI lifeboat was launched at 6 a.m. to respond to the emergency located in St Helens Roads. Upon arrival, the lifeboat crew, assisted by two of their members already on board, began performing CPR on the stricken man until a Coastguard helicopter arrived, equipped with a paramedic for enhanced medical support. After the critical assessment, the crew managed to transfer two of their own back to safety on the lifeboat, which subsequently headed back to Bembridge. Tragically, despite these efforts, the man was later pronounced dead at St Mary's Hospital. In light of this incident, officers from Hampshire Constabulary were dispatched to the 'Ievoli Cobalt' to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
