Janaki Experiences Engine Failure Near Haydarpaşa
On August 13, 2022, the cargo vessel 'Janaki' encountered engine failure while navigating towards Istanbul, just off the Haydarpaşa breakwater. The situation prompted a call for immediate assistance, leading to the mobilization of the tugs 'Kurtarma 9' and 'Kurtarma 10', in addition to the lifeboat 'KEGM 4' and a pilot for support. Thanks to the efficient coordination by the Istanbul Ship Traffic Services Center, the 'Janaki' was safely anchored at the C Anchor Area by 9:45 p.m. As of August 14, the vessel remained stationary at coordinates 40° 56.21' N, 028° 50.79' E.
