Working Conditions Aboard the Jb117

On the night of April 27, 2014, an urgent medical evacuation unfolded in the Bard Offshore 1 wind farm, located approximately 90 kilometers north of Borkum. A crew member aboard the vessel 'JB 117' suffered a foot injury in an accident. Unable to reach the patient by helicopter, the situation called for an alternative rescue effort. The lifeboat 'Alfried Krupp' was promptly dispatched to the scene. By employing a crane, rescuers safely transferred the injured man from the 'Borwin Alpha' platform. During the journey to Eemshaven, medical personnel stabilized his condition sufficiently to make an unscheduled stop in Borkum. There, an expectant mother was also rescued, allowing both individuals to be escorted to the mainland for further medical assistance.
