On April 25, 2015, the vessel JUMBO KINETIC set a remarkable benchmark in heavy lifting by successfully executing a test lift of 3,000 tons at the Huisman production facility located in Zhangzhou, China. This achievement signifies the delivery of a new generation of heavy lift ships, showcasing advancements in marine engineering. Engineers from Jumbo and Huisman meticulously planned and conducted the series of test lifts leading up to this record-breaking event. Starting with an initial weight of 250 tons, each subsequent test was carefully assessed, ultimately progressing to a peak of 1,650 tons, which included a standard 10% overload typically seen in testing scenarios. The concluding test, a tandem lift reaching 3,000 tons, underscored the vessel's capabilities, with JUMBO KINETIC passing with flying colors. Following this successful operation, Jumbo received the Lloyd’s Certificate of Test and Thorough Examination of Lifting Appliances (L.A.2), further solidifying its reputation in the heavy lift sector.
