In a strategic move to enhance its service offerings, Rickmers-Linie, the renowned Hamburg-based leader in breakbulk, heavy lift, and project cargo transportation, has successfully acquired the tramp and chartering operations of Nordana Project & Chartering. With a global presence through offices in Copenhagen, Bangkok, Singapore, and Houston, Nordana's project business will operate under the established brand name of 'NPC.' This new division is set to complement the existing Rickmers-Linie operations within the Rickmers Group, effective July 1, 2016. NPC will oversee a versatile fleet of multipurpose heavy lift vessels, with capacities ranging from 8,000 to 21,000 dwt and lifting capabilities of up to an impressive 500 tonnes. This core fleet will primarily consist of Nordana’s 12,000 dwt heavy lift vessels and will also include vessels registered under the Thai flag, allowing for increased operational flexibility and global reach. This acquisition marks a significant step in Rickmers-Linie’s mission to strengthen its market position in the heavy lift segment and deliver superior project cargo solutions.
