K-River Returns to Service After Extended Layup Period

The container feeder vessel K-River, identified by IMO number 9138355, has officially resumed operations after an extended layup period in Bremen. According to reports from the German newspaper THB, the ship, managed by the Hamburg-based K & K Schiffahrts GmbH & Co. KG, had been inactive since October 28, 2009. Notably, the K-River was the last remaining laid-up feedership at a German port. As of this past Sunday, the 700-TEU vessel is now actively engaging in the Unifeeder service for the Hamburg-Baltic Sea trade route.
