The Kanway-Global: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On March 16, 2025, at approximately 5:40 p.m., an unfortunate incident occurred at the Keelung port in Taiwan when around 100 liters of fuel were accidentally released during a bunkering operation involving the vessel 'Kanway Global.' The spill originated during the connection procedure, affecting several vessels, including 'TS Pusan,' 'TS Surabaya,' and 'YM Immense.' Additionally, three pilot boats and mooring lines were also contaminated. Responding swiftly to the situation, port authorities initiated cleanup efforts using pressure washers as a temporary measure. To prevent further environmental impact and ensure the smooth continuity of port operations, oil containment booms and absorbent materials were deployed. The affected pilot boats are currently being drydocked for comprehensive cleaning, while other impacted vessels have delayed their scheduled departures from the port.
