Harmony SW Grounded in Kiel Canal: A Close Call Averted
In the early hours of January 12, 2012, at approximately 4 a.m., the vessel 'Harmony SW' encountered engine problems while navigating through the Kiel Canal at the Schwartenbek passing point. Originating from Holtenau, the ship was on a westbound journey when it became incapacitated. Responding swiftly, tugs 'Bülk' and 'Holtenau' were dispatched to assist the stricken ship. Fortunately, the successful salvage operation led to the 'Harmony SW' being towed back to Holtenau Roads, where it was securely moored just before 8 a.m. Additionally, the tug 'Bugsier 15' also made its way to the site from Brunsbuettel but returned before reaching Oldenbüttel after the situation was resolved.
