K. Dadayli Experiences Engine Failure at Drepanon
On November 3, 2019, the vessel 'K. Dadayli' encountered an engine malfunction while docked at Drepanon. Despite the crew’s attempts to rectify the issue, repairs were unsuccessful. Consequently, the tugboat 'Apollon' was summoned to assist in towing the distressed vessel to Izmir. Following the completion of the necessary towing approval formalities, the towing operation was initiated on November 8. The 'K. Dadayli' arrived off the coast of Izmir on November 10, subsequently anchoring at coordinates 38° 25.59' N, 027° 6.24' E. It then made its way into the Alaybey shipyard on November 13, after fulfilling all arrival and customs procedures. A thorough damage evaluation was conducted by surveyors from the classification society RINA. As a result of the incident, the vessel's classification status has been suspended pending the completion of comprehensive repairs and subsequent sea trials. The owner of the 'K. Dadayli' has since provided new sets of spare parts, and repairs are currently in progress.

On February 15, 2018, the bulk carrier 'K. Dadayli' encountered a mechanical issue when a fuel injector broke while it was navigating from Ijmuiden to Plymouth in ballast. The incident occurred at coordinates 51°14'N, 01°42'E, as the vessel passed through the busy southwest Dover Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS). Repair efforts commenced on February 16, as the crew worked diligently to resolve the malfunction and ensure the ship's safe continuation.
Engine Failure Strikes 'K. Dadayli' in the Bosporus
On November 16, 2016, at 10:56 p.m., the cargo ship 'K. Dadayli' experienced engine trouble while navigating the Bosporus Strait in a northbound direction. The vessel was en route from Mersin to Varna when the incident occurred shortly after it passed the second Bosporus Bridge. The Istanbul Vessel Traffic Service promptly responded by deploying two tugs, 'Kurtarma 3' and 'Kiyem 3', to provide assistance. With a crew of 12 on board, the vessel was successfully towed and secured off the coast of Büyükdere at approximately 12:35 a.m. On November 18, around 4 a.m., 'K. Dadayli' was able to berth at Tuzla, where it has remained since.
