Klaverbank Adrift in Stormy Seas After Engine Malfunction
On December 19, 2014, the vessel 'Klaverbank' encountered a critical engine failure while navigating through challenging conditions 15 nautical miles northwest of Smøla. The ship was on its course from Mo i Rana to Averøya when it became adrift in a strong southwest gale. The emergency was promptly reported to Florø radio at 4:51 p.m. After several tense hours, the eight-member crew successfully managed to restart the engine during the night.
