The incident occurred at approximately 2:25 p.m. and was reportedly ignited by a discarded cigarette butt from a passenger. The burning butt came into contact with a rolled garbage can, subsequently sparking a fire that spread to foam cargo situated on the front right of deck No. 7. The fire caused significant damage to various elements onboard, including wooden doors in hall A on deck No. 7, window glass, life jacket storage boxes, two wooden staircase sets, an iron door, outdoor lighting fixtures, and two speakers.
