A maritime incident occurred on December 28, 2018, at 11:45 a.m. in the Bali Strait when the cargo vessel 'Dharma Kosala' collided with the anchored ferry 'Munic 1' near Banyuwangi. At the time of the allision, the 'Dharma Kosala' was navigating towards Ketapang Port, while the 'Munic 1' remained stationary in the backwaters of Lanal Banyuwangi. The 'Dharma Kosala' had been docked at the Lanal Banyuwangi Pier since December 27, and due to its position, it was unable to leave until 11 a.m. that morning. Meanwhile, 'Munic 1' was floating to the south, influenced by the water current. As the 'Dharma Kosala' maneuvered out of the dock, its stern made contact with the bow of 'Munic 1', resulting in damage to the cargo vessel, while the ferry remained intact.
