The terminal at BNCT proudly marked a significant milestone with the inaugural arrival of the MV KMTC Mumbai on Monday, July 14. As KMTC's largest ship to date, this impressive vessel boasts a capacity of 5,466 TEU, reinforcing KMTC's strategic plan to utilize larger vessels on the FIX service that links the Far East, Asia, and India. Peter Slootweg, Chief Commercial Officer at BNCT, remarked on the timely upsizing, saying, "The decision to deploy larger vessels is perfectly timed due to the notable increase in trade between these regions recently." He emphasized BNCT’s role as the terminal for the FIX Service in Busan and expressed pride in being part of this landmark occasion. Furthermore, Slootweg highlighted BNCT's commitment to future growth, noting that their own expansion plans include an additional capacity of 700,000 TEU expected to be operational by May 2015, positioning both BNCT and KMTC for a prosperous partnership in New Port for many years ahead.
