In the early hours of March 30, 2025, the ship 'Kota Halus' found itself the target of a theft incident, occurring at 2:55 a.m. Approximately 2.3 nautical miles off the Helen Mar Reef, in the eastbound lane of the Traffic Separation Scheme within the Singapore Strait, three individuals boarded the vessel. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries among the crew during this unsettling breach. However, the perpetrators managed to make off with a portable welding machine, raising concerns over security in one of the world's busiest waterways.
