In a strategic move aligned with its divestment plan, Maersk Supply Service has successfully sold two of its vessels, Maersk Feeder and Maersk Fighter. This decision is part of an overarching strategy to slim down its fleet by as many as 20 vessels over the next 18 months. The recent sales come in light of challenging market conditions, characterized by numerous vessels in lay-up, restricted trading opportunities, and a surplus of offshore supply vessels in the global market. The transactions for Maersk Feeder and Maersk Fighter were concluded with the official delivery to their new owners on October 21 and October 27, 2016, respectively. Following the sale, the vessels will undergo modifications and will exit the Offshore Supply Vessel (OSV) market. Maersk Feeder and Maersk Fighter, both classified as Platform Supply Vessels, have been integral to Maersk Supply Service since their addition to the fleet in 1993 and 1992, respectively.
