Container Ship Collision in Taichung Port
On March 9, 2018, an unfortunate maritime incident occurred in Taichung when the container ship 'He Bin' collided with the 'Kuo Chang' around midday. The 'He Bin' was navigating the port amidst strong gusts of wind, which led to its unintentional drift and subsequent allision with the 'Kuo Chang'. The collision resulted in damage to several containers on the 'Kuo Chang', affecting three cargo bays and a ladder. Additionally, the 'He Bin' sustained damage to its port side stern. Following the incident, the 'Kuo Chang' departed from Taichung on March 11 at 5:00 AM, making its way to Kaohsiung, where it successfully docked at the APL Container Terminal by 2:20 PM.
