On June 2, 2016, the cargo vessel 'Lady Adèle' encountered mechanical difficulties while navigating near Brest during its journey from Loviisa to Nantes. The situation arose when the ship’s engine began to overheat in the early morning hours. While attempting to diagnose the issue, the vessel continued to sail at a reduced speed along the Brittany coast before ultimately requesting emergency assistance. In the late afternoon, a towing agreement was finalized between Abeilles and Winne Barends. At 12:40 p.m., the tugboat 'Abeille Bourbon' departed from Brest to assist the stricken 'Lady Adèle,' which was transporting a substantial cargo of 5,000 m³ of sawn timber. The towing operation was successful, and by 11 p.m., the convoy arrived at the 5th basin. The 'Lady Adèle' was then securely berthed at the East Wharf, where it underwent inspections by the UAT agency.
