On March 29, 2021, at approximately 10:20 a.m., the Togolese-flagged cargo vessel 'Baskop' met with an unexpected incident in the Marghera port of Venice. The 'Baskop', which was making its way from Ortona carrying a significant load of 6,200 tons of soda, collided with the general cargo ship 'Cileen M', which had arrived at the port from Damietta and was moored since 8 a.m. The mishap occurred as the 'Baskop', aided by the tug 'Vanna C.', maneuvered to dock. As the vessel approached, it unfortunately impacted the starboard side stern of the already moored 'Cileen M.', which was preparing to load 4,700 tons of sand at CIAW 1. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and no pollution was detected as a result of the allision. In response to the incident, the Port Authority of Venice dispatched personnel for initial investigations. In the days following the event, the Venice Coast Guard's Port State Control Unit is scheduled to conduct further technical examinations to ensure the safety of both vessels before they are permitted to depart the port. On the evening of December 23, 2018, the Port Authority of Larymna received an urgent notification concerning a 54-year-old crew member aboard the vessel 'St. John's'. The ship, which was docked at the Larko Larymna port for sand loading operations, became the scene of an unfortunate incident that led to the crew member's injury. Emergency services swiftly transported the injured mariner to the company's first aid clinic before relocating him to the General Prefectural Hospital in Livadia. Ultimately, he was transferred to the General Hospital of Athens for further treatment, where he is currently receiving care. On September 25, 2018, the bulk carrier St. Johns experienced a technical malfunction while sailing from Diliskelesi to Alexandria loaded with cargo. The incident occurred near Datca, prompting the crew to anchor at Datca anchorage to address the issue. Thanks to the diligent efforts of the crew, repair work was promptly initiated onboard. Following the successful repairs, the St. Johns resumed its journey, anticipating its arrival in Alexandria by September 29.
