Lady Mia Detained in Iskenderun Over Serious Deficiencies

On December 11, 2025, the vessel 'Lady Mia' was detained at Iskenderun Port following a comprehensive survey conducted under the Mediterranean Memorandum of Understanding. Inspectors uncovered a total of 20 deficiencies, highlighting six that were severe enough to warrant the detention of the ship. The inspection assessed various areas including the accommodation, galley, cargo holds and tanks, engine room, navigation bridge, outside decks, and forecastle. Following the fulfillment of the necessary requirements, 'Lady Mia' set sail for Beirut, reaching its destination on December 15.

On March 28, 2010, a maritime incident occurred off the coast of Tokushima Prefecture, Japan, involving the fishing vessel 'Outsailing 9' and the cargo ship 'Nisshin Maru'. The collision took place in the Naruto Strait around 12:15 a.m. as both vessels navigated in the waters between Naruto City and Awaji Island. As a result of the crash, two of the four crew members aboard the 'Nisshin Maru', owned by Asia Ship Trader Co. of Hiroshima, went missing. The remaining crew members were promptly rescued by the 'Outsailing 9' and transported to a hospital in Tokushima for treatment. Fortunately, all 15 crew members of the 'Outsailing 9', which was sailing from Ichihara, Chiba Prefecture to Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture, were reported safe. Notably, the accident occurred near the Onaruto Bridge, which links Awaji Island and Naruto City. At the time of the incident, the 'Nisshin Maru' was heading from Kure, Hiroshima Prefecture to Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture.
