Working Conditions Aboard the Ladyjoy

On July 11, 2016, at approximately 2 a.m., the freighter 'Tayo 6' became the focal point of an investigation following a tragic collision with a Korean fishing boat north of Jeju. This unfortunate incident resulted in the death of the fishing boat's captain. The Korea Coast Guard quickly identified 'Tayo 6' as the principal suspect in the hit-and-run accident and ordered the vessel to anchor for a thorough inspection. During the survey, authorities discovered a fresh 50-centimeter scratch on the bow of the freighter, furthering suspicions of its involvement in the collision.
