Maritime Incident in the Marmara Sea Involving Long Cheer and Ince Kastamonu
In the early hours of August 5, 2017, a maritime incident occurred in the Marmara Sea when the cargo vessel 'Long Cheer', on its way from Rouen to Istanbul, collided with the bulk carrier 'Ince Kastamonu'. The collision took place around 2:30 a.m., approximately 15 miles south of the Bosphorus entrance. At the time of the incident, the Turkish bulk carrier 'Ince Kastamonu' was traveling from Sudan to Romania. Following the collision, both ships dropped anchor to assess the situation. The 'Ince Kastamonu' resumed its journey on the afternoon of August 8, making its way to Altinova and subsequently docking at Sefine Shipyard for necessary repairs.
