Collision in Campos Basin: Petrobras' FPSO 'P 35' Strikes Supply Vessel 'Larus'
On February 18, 2017, a significant maritime incident occurred in the Campos Basin off the coast of Brazil, involving Petrobras' floating production, storage, and offloading unit (FPSO) 'P 35' and the supply ship 'Larus'. The collision took place during the routine operation of supplying water to the FPSO. While the accident resulted in damage to one of the lifeboats aboard the 'Larus', thankfully, there were no reported injuries to crew members aboard either vessel. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the collision, and divers have been dispatched to conduct an inspection of the FPSO's hull to assess any potential underwater damage.
