On June 29, 2015, at approximately 1 a.m., the boxship "Leo Perdana" collided with the tanker "Navigator Aries" off the coast of Karang Jamuang Island, located around 20 nautical miles north of Surabaya. The tanker sustained significant damage, including a breach on the port side that led to a fire onboard. Fortunately, fire response teams extinguished the flames by 4:15 p.m. at the incident scene. At the time of the crash, the "Navigator Aries" was navigating from Dermaga Gospier to Pelabuhan Kalbut, whereas the "Leo Perdana" was making its way to Surabaya.
