On the morning of August 14, 2014, the freighter 'Leonid Khotkin' ran aground in the Azov-Don Sea Canal, specifically in the area between buoys 34 and 35, as reported by Odin.tc. The vessel, which was carrying a cargo of wheat and heading from Azov to Turkey, faced a grounding incident but was successfully refloated on the same day with the assistance of tugs. Following the incident, 'Leonid Khotkin' was escorted to Azov port for a thorough inspection, and fortunately, no damage was reported on the freighter.
