Four Vessels Sold in a Block Deal for Approximately $39 Million
The vessels BARMBEK, EILBEK, REINBEK, and FLOTTBEK have been sold as a block for approximately $39 million to German buyers. This transaction comes after a previous deal for these ships did not materialize, highlighting the dynamic nature of the maritime market. The sale marks a significant shift in the ownership of these vessels, with the buyers poised to integrate them into their current fleet.
Cargo Complications Amidst Gale Storm Niklas
On March 30, 2015, the container ship Eilbek embarked on its journey from Rotterdam with a scheduled stop in Antwerp en route to St. Petersburg. However, during its passage across the North Sea, the vessel encountered the extreme conditions of storm Niklas, resulting in a significant shift of some of its cargo. To address the situation, Eilbek docked at East Shore Port in Kiel on April 1 at 10:15 PM. There, the crew worked to secure the undamaged containers while unloading those that were damaged by the storm.
