On August 16, 2010, the Dutch frigate Hrms 'De Zeven Provinciën' responded to a distress call from the container ship 'Anangel Innovation'. While stationed approximately 30 miles away, the frigate quickly made its way toward a skiff that posed a threat to the vessel, with seven individuals onboard. The situation escalated when a Japanese helicopter arrived at the scene first, prompting the alleged pirates to flee. Following this, the Lynx helicopter from 'De Zeven Provinciën' engaged in attempts to deter the skiff by firing warning shots. However, it wasn't until the frigate arrived on site and fired additional warning shots from its 55-mm guns that the pirates halted their advance. Navy teams then deployed via RHIBs (rigid-hulled inflatable boats), employing weapons and a ladder previously thrown into the water during the operation. The frigate's crew successfully seized the skiff's major outboard engine while allowing the pirates to leave with a smaller engine remaining.
