Docking Incident in Brunsbüttel Involves 'Lila Incheon'
On February 13, 2025, the cargo vessel 'Lila Incheon' faced a challenging situation while attempting to dock at the Elbe port in Brunsbüttel. Even with the assistance of two tugs, 'Sönke' (IMO: 9892705) and 'Fairplay 66' (IMO: 9036258), the ship collided with the quay wall during its docking maneuver after arriving from Cristobal. Preliminary investigations conducted by the Brunsbüttel water police attribute the incident to a maneuvering error. Fortunately, the vessel only sustained a minor breach, with a small hole located approximately 50 centimeters above the waterline near the cofferdam. Importantly, there were no reports of water ingress, and the situation was managed without injuries. To ensure safety, a sailing ban was enacted until the vessel's seaworthiness could be verified. After ensuring compliance, 'Lila Incheon' departed from Brunsbüttel on February 17 and is now en route to the Russian port of Ust-Luga, with an estimated arrival set for February 21.
