The fully cellular containership Linda, with a gross tonnage of 9,131 and built in 2007, encountered a significant challenge while navigating from Tees to Rotterdam. At 14:15 hrs on July 10, the vessel reported being not under command due to water ingress affecting its main engine. Fortunately, an immediate response resolved the issue by 15:12 UTC, and there were no reports of pollution during this incident. The ship was carrying 11 crew members at the time, ensuring their safety as they dealt with the technical difficulties.

In a significant decision, Sweden's emergency response units have chosen not to retrieve chemical-laden containers that were jettisoned into the Baltic Sea by the vessel MV Linda (IMO 9354325). This incident occurred on February 6, between Öland and Gotland, while the MV Linda was navigating its regular route from Rotterdam to St. Petersburg. Experts have assessed that the chemicals, now resting at depths of 70-110 meters, pose a limited environmental risk due to their localised impact. Should the containers be discovered, authorities have determined they will remain on the sea floor, given that their hazardous effects in the area are considered minimal.
