On September 24, 2020, the bulk carrier 'Majestic Sky' experienced a hull breach at its bow while unmooring from the COFCO terminal located on the Paraná River. The incident occurred in the morning shortly after the vessel had loaded 42,000 tons of soy meal and was preparing for its journey to Las Palmas, with an estimated time of arrival set for October 7. The grounding took place at river kilometer 443, where the forepeak ballast tank was compromised, resulting in water ingress. Fortunately, the bilge pumps were able to manage the inflow of water effectively. Following the incident, the ship anchored at San Lorenzo's coordinates 32° 46.12' N 060° 42.96' W, requiring urgent repairs before it could resume its scheduled voyage.
