Longvik Ship Details and Seafarer Feedback

On December 17, 2014, the cargo vessel 'Abis Cardiff' set sail from Rouen bound for Nador. However, on December 18 at 3 p.m., the ship experienced engine complications while drifting approximately 18 nautical miles north of Cap de la Hague in the English Channel. The CROSS Jobourg was alerted to the distress situation, leading to the intervention by the tug 'Abeille Liberte' (IMO: 9308699). Despite challenging weather conditions, the tow operation commenced that evening. By 4:10 a.m. on December 19, the tug convoy successfully arrived off the coast of Cherbourg. The port's tugs, 'Sirocco' and 'Saire', from the Cherbourg naval base joined forces to assist in the operation. Upon arrival, 'Abis Cardiff' was anchored off the coast, awaiting an additional tug to facilitate its journey to Rotterdam.
